Policies
Refundpolicy.
For the Basketball 101 online course, training sessions, memberships and court rental.
Draft · 26 August 2026
Unapproved draft — not a policy in force.
Howard Elite Basketball Academy has never published a refund policy. Nothing existed on its old site, nothing exists on its Teachable school beyond that platform’s own boilerplate, and no terms were published for the gym.
What follows is a drafting template for Coach Howard to complete and approve. Every window, fee and threshold is deliberately left blank. Do not treat any of it as binding, and do not publish it, until he has filled it in and signed it off.
Also relevant: nothing is currently on sale.
The Teachable school’s product catalogue is empty and no price is published for any in-gym service. There is therefore no live transaction this policy would currently govern — but it must be settled before anything reopens.
1. Scope
- Digital: the Basketball 101 online course, sold via Teachable
- In person: training sessions, clinics, camps, court rental and memberships at Industry Hoops
- Entries: youth and adult leagues, and tournaments
2. The online course
Basketball 101 is digital content delivered immediately on purchase. The refund window would be period to be set from the date of purchase.
Refunds would be conditional / unconditional — to be set. Where conditions apply, they are to be set.
Because it is a video course, access is revoked / retained — to be set once a refund is issued.
3. Teachable’s role
The course is hosted and processed by Teachable, whose own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy also apply. Those are platform documents, not the academy’s own refund terms — they do not fill this gap.
4. Training sessions
Unused pre-paid sessions would be refunded on what basis — to be set, less any deduction — to be set. Sessions already delivered are treatment to be set.
5. Camps, clinics and league entries
Places are reserved and staffed ahead of time. Refunds would follow a tiered scale by how far ahead the request is made: tiers and percentages to be set.
6. Court rental
Court-rental payments are refundable / credit-only — to be set where cancelled within the notice period in the cancellation policy.
7. Memberships
Open Court memberships are refundable / non-refundable — to be set. Unused full months are treatment to be set. Joining fees, if any, are treatment to be set.
8. When the academy cancels
If the academy cancels and cannot offer a suitable alternative, the participant would receive a full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled item, with no deduction. This is the one clause here stated without a placeholder, because any lesser outcome would be indefensible.
9. Duplicate and mistaken payments
Payments taken in error or twice are refunded in full on request, without conditions.
10. How refunds are paid
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing time is to be set, subject to the payment provider’s own timescales.
11. Chargebacks
Anyone considering a chargeback is asked to contact the academy first — see the contact page. Most disputes are quicker to fix directly.
12. Approval status
Not in force. No refund policy has ever been published by this academy. This draft binds nobody until Coach Howard completes and approves it.
